GMAT/GRE: It is worth noting that the GMAT examination has become significantly more difficult  according to reports from test takers. The Quantitative section has been regularly cited as more difficult than expected since the software change which occurred in 2006. Naturally, there are more and more test takers, therefore more competition, and in turn higher standards.

Only those who attained a score of greater than 650/800 (86% percentile) have been included in the list below. There are many others whose names do not appear who nevertheless attained scores that were more than adequate for their respective Masters programs. A list of destination universities can be found at the bottom of the folowing table.

SAT/AP: There has been a gradual increase in interest for SAT and AP tests. Students in Greece, who are intent on studying in the USA, are typically aiming for IVY LEAGUE universities which demand commensurately high scores in both the SAT I and SAT II Subject Tests and/or AP tests.

Results of 2006 were excellent from a number of talented and dedicated students. Of special note are Dimitris Boukis who has secured a place for MEDICINE at Boston University, having sat the SAT I, SAT II (Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology), AP (Mathematics and Chemistry); Kostas Mitsigas who has won a place at the University of Chicago to study Mechanical Engineering; Emilia Papadaki has secured a place to study Law at Princeton University; and Stefania Damanaki who has secured a place at University of Pennsylvania to study Chemical Engineering.

2007: Bogdan Patedakis-Litvinov, who is endeavouring to secure place at a US Medical School, attained a perfect 800/800 in the SAT 2 Mathematics Test (Higher level) in November 2006. Bogdan completed his other 3 SAT 2 subject tests in January 2007 with excellent scores: Chemistry 780/800, Biology 770/800 and Physics 800/800. In May 2007, Bogdan was offered places at all the universities to which he applied. He finally chose Brown University, regarded as the world's foremost university for Medicine (PLME).

2008:

TOEFL/IELTS: Universities either demand a TOEFL test score or IELTS test score in order to gauge a prospective candidate's English language proficiency - TOEFL perhaps being the more ubiquitous although the IELTS examination is becoming more and more recognized all over the world.

The IELTS is the alternative to the TOEFL, though not nearly as widely required as the TOEFL test. The scoring scale is from 0 to 9, a respectable score for a top university being more than 7/9.

The TOEFL CBT was discontinued from 30/06/2006 in Greece, and instead the TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test) was introduced to replace it. This new version includes an interview section and generally more emphasis on speaking/listening than the previous test. Also, the Structure section has been excluded altogether; grammatical questions are now integrated into the other sections. The new score will be out of 120, a respectable score being more than 100.
